How to Choose the Right Size for Your Laptop
Getting the right fit is critical. A too-small sleeve weakens protection, and a too-large sleeve lets your laptop slide around. Here's the exact process I use when I'm helping clients pick laptop sleeves.
Step 1: Measure Your Screen Diagonally
Don't trust the marketing name on your laptop box. A "15-inch" laptop can actually have a 15.6-inch screen. Use a tape measure from one corner of the display to the opposite corner. Record that number.
Pro tip: do not include the bezel in the measurement. Measure the visible screen area only.
Step 2: Check the Sleeve's Interior Dimensions
The Glow of the Demon Queen 15-inch sleeve measures 16.5 x 11.5 x 1 inches. That fits most 15.6-inch ultrabooks. The 13-inch version is 14 x 10.5 x 0.8 inches, perfect for a MacBook Air or a Surface Laptop 7.
Step 3: Account for Thickness
Pull out your calipers or just check your laptop's spec sheet. If your device is thicker than 0.9 inches, the 13-inch sleeve might feel tight. In that case, go up a size. The exterior fabric has some stretch, but fighting the zipper is a losing battle.
Step 4: Test With Your Hard Case On
If you run a hard shell case, add its thickness to your measurements. A 15-inch MacBook with a plastic case won't fit a 16.5-inch interior. Plan accordingly.
A quick table can help:
| Laptop Size | Sleeve Size | Interior Dimensions |
| 13 inch screen | 13-inch sleeve | 14 x 10.5 x 0.8 in |
| 14 inch screen | 13-inch sleeve | 14 x 10.5 x 0.8 in |
| 15.6 inch screen | 15-inch sleeve | 16.5 x 11.5 x 1 in |
